How would you introduce Lee Seung Kyu in a sentence?
I’d like to say I’m an adventurer. There may be an easy way to go on the path that others have taken, but I want to explore my own path. I always try my best to achieve my goal by consistently trying new things. I think acting is also a challenging job and an exploration of emotions.
You are an actor and a model which means you always have a busy schedule. How do you strike that work/ life balance?
In fact, I’m still in the early days of my debut, so I’m not always busy because I’m a rookie. However, if there is a day when I have to carry out a busy schedule that’s hard to sleep, I’ll do my best to do my job with happiness and joy. I charge my energy through various activities such as swimming, fitness, cooking, etc., which are my hobbies during my break time.
What was that one movie you watched and thought “this is something I’d love to do someday”?
I’d like to answer this question as a movie man. I remember watching a movie in the genre of crime noir when I was young and imitating the lines of my seniors. When I was young, my dream was to be a cool uncle or a hero. I’m very excited because I’m taking a step forward towards that dream.
As an actor do you prefer more challenging roles or do you like staying in your comfort zone?
As I said before, I prefer to be challenged because I have a tendency to be an adventurer. The same goes for me in my daily life. I’m always interested in new roles and I want to expand my spectrum by playing them well. I want to find my own colour in that process.
The word "challenge" will come to mind as a person named Lee Seung-gyu and as an actor.

Actors and artists always star in huge commercials throughout their careers, we would like to know what kind of commercial would you love to star in?
Any commercial would be a great honour if you let me .Ha ha ha! I don’t think there’s any specific advertisement. I want to appear in a novel commercial that tells a story in a fun way rather than with a famous brand. It would be too hard to convey emotions in 30-second advertisements, but I will do my best if I have a chance.
Who do you consider to be your role model in acting and why?
I think an actor who shows his own colour in every piece, and who is immersed in his role. I think there is an actor who can become that character. I think Lee Byung-hun is closer to the latter. When an actor is immersed in the role they are playing, I think they should remain as a character in the story and not as themselves. I think that’s how you can bring out the true emotions in a character. I want to work hard and see you in the next drama.
Long term what do you hope to achieve in your career?
I imagine myself standing at an award ceremony one day every morning. It is not just about the honour; it is also about conveying something to someone. I want to share all my glorious moments with my loved ones. I can’t tell you the story now, but if such a day comes, please remember Lee Seung-gyu if you’ve seen this article.

What is a fun fact people do not know about you?
When I was in the military, I was dancing while watching a music video by the girl group Aespa in the dormitory. I fell on the bed, and my shin had about a 15cm tear. Fortunately, I treated the wound without any issues, and now I’m fine. If someone asks me a story behind this wound, I can’t easily answer because of the shame.
