All hail Queen Taeyeon. INVU album review
Taeyeon has cemented herself as one of the greatest female vocalists in the K-pop industry. She has the track record to prove it and her versatile, powerful voice to back her up too. I’ve always loved how her voice defies every genre she embarks on especially when she takes on the soft rock infused with a little bit of pop genre…perfection.
The vocal goddess didn’t disappoint with the release of her 3rd album INVU, with experimenting with a more mature sound but still standing by the concept of love which I think she always does justice by, I love the fact she experimented with a soft rock sound while still staying by the Pop side a bit, I can’t really explain this sound but I love it.
I can’t ignore the visuals used for this album, it is giving me Greek mythology and fairytale folklore vibes especially her album tilted song INVU while other tracks like Heart and Can’t control myself make me feel like I’m going through one hell of a break up that I can’t seem to recover from, then there’s Weekend which has an 80s groovy vibe to it which makes you just want to dance, there’s no in-between really.
My favorite songs from the album are INVU, No love again, Set myself on fire and Weekend.
I must admit Taeyeon has always got me in my feels, I love how soulful and healing her voice can be, she always delivers, I rate this album 7.5/10.
