South Africans learn how to make Traditional Korean Knots

The Korean Cultural Centre in South Africa held a Korean traditional knots workshop on Monday, 17 April 2023. The participants spent 2 hours making Traditional Korean Knots with their instructor Kim Youn Jung. Korean Traditional Knots are one of Korea’s representative Gyubang crafts.

The participants also had an opportunity to tour the Korean knots on show in the exhibition room and learn more about the history of Korean Knots and how they developed independently over thousands of years.

The workshop was a meaningful cultural lecture, experience and truly an opportunity to introduce beautiful Korean handcrafting culture to South Africans.
