It’s time everyone gave Key's masterpiece; Bad Love a listen.

SHINee's Key is no doubt one of the most talented and most versatile artist to come out the second generation (my favorite K-pop generation) from his start with the legendary group SHINee to his first solo project which he dubbed Face, that’s when I saw the brilliance that is Key.

Bad Love is Key’s first mini album and his baby or as he likes to call it “ a precious masterpiece, my bad love” and I get it, I truly understood what he meant when he said that, I used to play the album on my way to my many doctor appointments last year upon its release and I remember thinking how genius this whole project was.

Now back to the actual review, what I love most about the album is the overall genre he chose to go with, that retro 80’s disco pop sound which is more prominent in tracks such as Bad Love, Yellow Tape, Saturday Night and Helium…honestly it’s like going back in time, I also loved how he stuck with the 80’s theme when it came to the visuals and the fashion for the Bad Love music video, nothing but retro vibes, even the space alien obsession that was going on in 80’s pop culture was displayed in the video.

Fashion and visuals aside( I love how he paid so much attention to detail and how he delivered it all) we should definitely focus on the vocals too because he never misses there, as much as I love rapper Key in SHINee I have to vouch for vocalist Key more, Key has such powerful and steady vocals which I love more on his ballads, tracks like Hate That…featuring a vocal powerhouse Taeyeon (another fav of mine) is one of my favorite songs on the album along with Eighteen (The end of my world) and a non ballad track Helium.

My favorite songs on the album are:

·        Bad Love (great vocals)

·        Helium

·        Yellow Tape

·        Eighteen (The end of my world)

·        Hate That

I am a huge Shawol (the SHINee fan base name) and I love it when each of the members release their own projects outside the group and display their creativity, Kibum did nothing but display his depth as an artist and as a creator on this project, I rate Bad Love 9/10, I simply just love the 80s and he delivered this concept flawlessly.
