RM's Indigo

Indigo serves as RM's first full-length album since he released his beautiful mixtape Mono in 2018. The album serves as documentation of the turmoil of one’s late twenties, an insightful peak into RM's journey and transition into adulthood.

This is one of my favourite projects from RM. It really shows how much he has grown as an artist over time. You can tell by the amount of care and detail that was put into this project, from the warm tones placed in the concept pictures and videos, the bonus is how impactful the lyrics are. Everything feels warmer, relatable and comforting; it was meant to be this impactful.

Indigo is a well-rounded project with collaborations from RnB, soul and neo-soul artists like the legendary Erykah Badu, Anderson.Paak, Mahalia, Youjeen and staying to his true rapping style, we see a blend with Rap, Hip-Hop and RnB, which is perfect for this project.

Overall this project is the perfect nod and ode to our late twenties, and I love the vulnerability and transparency RM displayed in this project.

My top 5 songs from the album are:

1.      Change pt 2

2.      Lonely

3.      Forg_tful ft Kim Sawol

4.      Wildflower with Youjeen

5.      Hectic with Colde.

I would strongly recommend Indigo to anyone who likes anything personal and just comforting for those grey days. I rate the album 9/10
